- One-piece, internally threaded fastener that creates a permanent, reusable thread in a material, from only one side.
- Installed using a special tool that grips the insert and pulls a mandrel, which causes the nut's body to deform and grip the hole. This allows a bolt to be threaded into the insert to join components together.
- Also known as a nutsert or rivnut.
- These threaded inserts can be used in blind or through hole applications. Can be used in almost any material over 2.38mm thick.
- As the insert is installed the threaded section is completely swaged into the sleeve portion of the hole, permitting them to be used with grade 8 screws.
- The installation hole size is determined by the density of the parent material.
- Can be pressed or otherwise compressed manually with a hammer for quick installation jobs in sheet material
